Photos, Video & Marketing
We may take photos or short videos of our setup and performance, and use them on our website and social media. We will not post content featuring you or your guests if you ask us not to in writing before the event.
Music LicensingÂ
The client or venue is responsible for any public-performance licensing the venue needs (for example, ASCAP, BMI or SESAC). Mixes, recordings or livestreams require separate written agreement.
Events Outside Our Control
Neither party is responsible for failing to perform because of events outside their reasonable control. Examples include severe weather, natural disasters, illness, accidents, power failures, government orders or venue closure. In these cases, we will work with you in good faith to reschedule. If rescheduling is not possible, payments beyond the deposit will be refunded.
Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of this website and to any DJ and entertainment services booked with DJ SEMI-COLAN. When you use this site or book our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or book services.
Services
We provide DJ and related entertainment services, which may include music, MC services, sound equipment and lighting. The exact Services, date, times, location and price for your event will be listed in your booking confirmation or event agreement ("Booking"). If a signed Booking conflicts with these Terms, the Booking controls.
Inquiries & Quotes
Submitting an inquiry or contact form does not reserve a date. Quotes are valid for [14] days and depend on availability. Your date is reserved only after we confirm the Booking and receive your deposit.
Deposits & Payment

A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to reserve your date.

The remaining balance is due 2 days before the event.

We accept cash, check, Venmo, PayPal.

If, for any reason, a check should be returned or not honored, the customer is responsible to pay Andrew Colan $50 service charge to cover administrative expenses & bank charges.
Cancellations & Rescheduling

Cancelling 180 days prior to the event, the customer is contractually responsible to pay 30% of the remaining balance.

Cancelling 90-179 days prior to the event, the customer is contractually responsible to pay 60% of the remaining balance.

Cancelling 89 days prior to the event, the customer is contractually responsible to pay 100% of the remaining balance.

Rescheduling: We will try to move your Booking to a new date, based on availability. Your deposit can be applied to one new date within [12] months.

Cancellation by the DJ: If the DJ must cancel for any reason other than events outside our control (Section 10), the DJ will refund all payments you made, or help arrange a replacement DJ if you prefer.
Event Times & Overtime

Performance time is the time listed in your Booking. Setup and teardown take about [1 hour] each and are not counted as performance time.

Extra time requested during the event is [$___ per hour / half hour]. It depends on the DJ's availability and venue rules, and is due at the event or on your final invoice.

If the event starts late for reasons outside our control, the end time may stay the same.
Venue & Client Responsibilities
The client agrees to make sure that:

The venue allows DJ services and amplified sound during the booked times.

The DJ has safe access for loading and parking, and a suitable setup area of about 3M X 4M in addition to the dance floor.

Space must be within 10M of an AC power source of 110V, 15amp circuit that is exclusively for the use of the DJ.

Must have one stndard size banquet table or equivalent for equipment purposes.

Outdoor events have a covered, level and dry setup area. We may stop playing or protect our equipment if weather creates a safety risk. No refund is owed in that case.

Any venue fees, permits or insurance certificates the venue requires are arranged in advance. Tell us about these at least [14] days before the event.

For events over [4] hours, the DJ is offered a meal or break and water.
Music, Requests & Conduct

The DJ will work with you on music preferences, "must play" and "do not play" lists before your event.

The DJ will take requests at his discretion. The DJ may decline requests that are inappropriate for the event, the venue or the audience, or that the DJ cannot play.

The DJ may stop the performance, without a refund, if the DJ faces harassment, threats, unsafe conditions or illegal activity. This includes guests handling the equipment without permission.
Equipment & Damage

All equipment is the property of the DJ. Guests may not touch or use it without permission.

The client is responsible for damage to our equipment caused by the client, guests or venue staff, other than normal wear.

We are not responsible for damage to the venue unless it is caused directly by our negligence.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Services will not exceed the total amount you paid for the Booking. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost enjoyment, venue costs or vendor costs.
